Luxman l-480 as preamp

Hello,

I am trying to use Luxman L-480 as a preamp to Rotel RB-981. It sounds pretty good but i noticed i have to set volume on Luxman to like 10-11 o'clock to get the same level when using integrated luxman at 8 o'clock. Could this cause any issue? When looking at Rotel specs, it shows 33 k Ohms/1.0 volt, but could not find any info on preamp of Luxman output levels. Is this "mismatched" amp preamp? Thanks!

No, it is just the difference in how the voltage ramps up. If you get near full volume before about 2-3 o'clock then all is fine.

You can learn to love the adjustability at the lower volumes.
