Well Well...I have been looking to get this Phone Amp for over year. I look at Bob's List and saw Luxman LE-109, T-117 and LV-117 for 3 1/2 clams..

This is cheap as the LE-109 goes for this and more. I sent a Email and then called the seller...Very Nice and had no issues shipping.

I have a Luxman LV-109 that will be Very Happy and also with T-117 will fit right in.

Looking over the Caps to Order:

Main Power Caps: Nichicon KG 1000uf 63v, Panasonic FC 22uf/100v, 470uf/35v, 47uf/25v
Audio: ELNA Cerafine 47uf/100v/63v, 22uf/50v
General: 100uf/25v , 220uf/16v ELNA Silmic II
Polyethylene: WIMA MKP 10/FKP 3

Let me put this out...There are 2 Orange Caps ELNA (M)...C1103 1uf/50v, C1104 10uf/25v

Not sure if they are Low Leakage..:scratch2: With Pioneer the Nichicon Orange Caps are LL.

You might want to keep the polystyrene caps that are in your first picture; these are considered very good sounding caps.

Yeas ago I re-capped an Accuphase pre amp and power amp for a friend. He was thrilled and amazed at how a bunch of Panasonic electrolitics and Wimas brought the old equipment back to sounding like something new and accurate.

I am going to do this in 2 Phases:

1. Keep polystyrene caps and comment on sound..3 weeks
2. Replace polystyrene caps with WIMAS. As VicW said..I have checked out many other Recaps and these included WIMAS with results as Accurate, Wider Soundstage and Band in Room.

I am still waiting for Mundorf Supreme (PartsConnexion). But have the rest....Working on this and LV-105u at the same time....

I strip every polystyrene cap on every piece of BPC I scrap. They are bgetting hard to get. They are undoubtably(IMHO) the best to put in the audio path. Joe, if you have a chance look over some other hi-end gear, you'll see a lot more polystyrene, especially in the phono section.

Caps are in...

I am going to do this in 2 Phases.

1. Cap replacements....I will leave in the Polystyrene and Films and Burn in the New Caps. If I like what I sound then Skip 2.

2. "laatsch55" I have been looking at several Phone Amps. Polystyrene are used and a mix of WIMAS. I do not what to Color the Sound as the LE-109 Sounds Very Very Nice.

I may replace the Films with Mundorf Supreme...Let's see.

Phase 1 of the Recap is Complete...

Going to let this burn in for the week...Will update Saturday.

Running this since Sunday as I have the TT(Pioneer PL-630) on Repeat...

I cannot hear any equipment Hiss from the Phone Amp(going thru LV-109).

Sound is Refine and Controlled. Playing back some LP's I know Very Well...I keep looking back at the speakers and say "Hum...Were did that come from? "

Going to let this go till Saturday.

I will still go with Phase II on switching out the Stock Films with Mundorf Supreme's...Will update Sat night with Pics.

After a week...I am going to put in the Mundorf Supreme's.

As I said...Very Very Quite Phone Amp..Lovely Lows thru Highs.

BUT...I am looking for a Wider Soundstage...and Mundorf Supreme will do this.

Will post pics tonight....Yeh Yeh...I just cannot leave things alone.

OK...Mundorf Supreme's are in...

I will update on how the Sound is Sunday...

10/17 - Could not wait...The Sound Stage is Wider then stock. Even More Detailed and Airy....It's just going to get Better when these break in...

Oh those are stuffed into the unit. having to lay over some styrenes but if the sound is better it is worth it.

Just the Top one's I had to move a bit.

very interesting, I haven't seen capacitors like those mundorfs used in a recap before on solid state equipment before, like say you would on a crossover. mind you I haven't seen a whole lot either. Cools-ville
BigV
I have used these in Speaker Crossovers...I seen other threads(from this site and others) using these type of Films for Phone Amp or Pre-Amps.

I can say this...Put in the Right parts and :D...
