Luxman M12 issues... Hoping for help

I recently picked up a gorgeous setup consisting of a M12 amp, CX 101 Pre-amp and TX 101 tuner. MINT in every aspect. Powered up the unit and to my dismay there was no output from the left channel. I started the normal trouble shooting of swapping speakers, cables, checking fuses, swapping inputs etc. Just silence.

Research seems to point to the DML-01 having gone bad. Upon opening up the unit I found that the right side DML has been replaced. the left was still original. I am also thanking my lucky stars I was using cheap speakers to test as placing a Fluke 87 on the speaker outputs showed an offset, after 5 minute warm up of 277 mv on the right channel and 207 on the left. Factory spec is 0 +- 20mv.

This unit is packed together very tightly. The service manual does not go into detail about disassembly so I am going very slowly. Any thoughts or items I can test besides what I have done? I would really like to repair this unit and have access to replacement DML’s which is a good thing. From the factory this unit had some amazing performance numbers based on the included QC check sheet that came with it. I have all the original packing, manuals and warranty cards for the entire system and would really like to keep this setup.

Attached is the original test sheet.6830D261-EC6E-4B5F-AB96-B6C16CED3A58.jpeg

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Bobby

Get the DML and move forward with replacement. Ask on the Luxman yahoo group if you need guidance.
