luxman r-1050, marantz 2015 or sansui g-5000

Hello all,

Im new here, and new to vintage audio. Im looking to start buying gear for a listening room. I found a local online estate auction that ends in a week that has 3 lots with receivers. one with a luxman r-1050, one with a marantz 2015, and one with a sansui g-5000. Any thoughts on what would be a better auction to put my money behind? (and how much i should be bidding)

I feel as if the marantz isnt powerful enough, but i love the look.
I dont know all that much about luxman in general, but it seems like people really love the r-1050.
The sansui is probably my favorite right now.

With a week to go, each lot is current under $90.

The Luxman is one of the best receivers ever made. Sounds great, nice tuner, LED power indicators and it works. The other, Mar is a pipsqueak at 15 watts per channel and the sansui is just another 45 wpc receiver. Nice enough but the Luxman is the get in that group.

Luxman made fantastic receivers and the R-1050 is a terrific choice. The Sansui is also a great option and will most likely sound a bit punchier than the Luxman (more lush). The Marantz is good looking, but not the better choice here.

Luxman for sure. The 1050 was one of their best receivers.

ok cool. thanks guys. just to make sure i dont overbid, how much do the luxman 1050r typically fetch on the open market? $300-400? would the sansui be in the same range? (i cant seem to find any good examples on craigslist or ebay to see what others are asking)

There are 5 suis sold on the bay and prices for the working ones are a couple bills to 5 bills. Sansui is a brand where you can pay for the name like Marantz and Pioneer. Luxman you pay for sound quality and well a unit that exudes quality just sitting there. Best looking vinyl wrap in the industry.
