About six or seven years ago, while touring Italy, our B&B in Rome had a stereo in the suite. I popped in a CD, and was way impressed. As the speakers were some unremarkable Sonys, I attributed the satisfying sound to the Luxman R-115, having never heard anything from that series.
We need to have our Audio Research SP-6b pre amp worked on (some real ugliness going on), and in the interim, will need a preamp. There's a Luxman R-114 available nearby, and since the front and back ends can be separated, was thinking of using it for that until the goodness knows how long it will take work is done on the AR SP-6b. Any thoughts from folks that have experience with the R-11x line on doing so?
Thanks, as always.
