Probably a dumb question, definitely long-winded, apologies in advance.
The foundation of my system is a Kenwood M1/C1 combo that I bought back in 1985. I had been operating it with the C1's power switch until it (the switch) gave up the ghost about ten years ago. Luckily it failed in the "on" position so I just started using the M1's power switch with the C1 powered from a switched outlet behind the M1. Anyway, it dawned on me that the M1's switch is probably living on borrowed time too so I've plugged it into a power/surge strip and have been using the strip's switch for power.
The M1's power switch is now always on, I've basically just moved the "switch" to the power lead, upstream from the Kenwood's mechanical switch. Is this going to do any harm to my trusty old M1?
