Newly acquired ADS M12s: Crappy quality woofers as 3 of the 4 are shot. Also according to ADS expert jdurbin, crossovers are of much lower quality than earlier ADS offerings. Dang. He suggested I post here to inquire about recommendations for "open air inductors" to replace a couple of the 6.25mH inductors on the board right now. Any takers?
In other news, I also acquired from the same person a pair of ADS L8e bookshelf speakers. After my disappointment with the M12s I was absolutely ecstatic to discover that not only do the L8e's work perfectly, they sound GREAT, like older style ADS (punchy, creamy smooth mids, airy highs.) Also seems they have a little less bass "bloom" than my 810s. I love em!!
I also happen to have an SW4 passive subwoofer, that I am dying to add to the L8e's and hear the result.
