Could someone please tell me what is the best way to hook up a sub to my MA-6100?

Use a 'Y' cable at the pre out to amp in connection on the rear panel, this way the sub will track with the volume control.

I'm not quite sure I understand, sorry I'm trying to learn. From what out on the Ma-6100 to what in on the sub?

Maybe I could chime in here. What Terry is referring to is 2 individual (usually short) cables, each shaped like a "Y", 2 male connectors, one female. The cables go between main-out, and pre-in, one for each side, resulting in a pair of female RCA connectors. Now connect a pair of RCA cables in your chosen length to connect to the sub.
