Today I took in an MA6600 on trade and had the time to sit down and bench test and then listen to this unit. What a great integrated amp! I put in the TM2 tuner module and this turns this unit into an audiophile quality receiver! I am now quite mad ay myself for not playing around with one of these sooner! What have people thought of this unit that own them? I think this may have to come home with me... now I just have to figure out where to put this! I may have to add on a room to the house and call it the "because I wanted a new McIntosh unit" room! :scratch2:

Ryan.......I know the feeling well. I have been toying with the idea of building another room onto my home, maybe 15' x 22' with a 9' ceiling. This room would be strictly a 2 channel sound room, acoustically treated, and constructed using techniques and materials with sound isolation in mind. I already have four completely seperate sound systems in four different rooms, but hey, who's counting. One more couldn't possibly hurt me, with the exception of writing all those checks.
 
I tried once to put something in the bathroom but I was shot down! What better place to get some good reading done and listen to great music?! Oh well. I feel your "pain"!! If the markets ever come back I may have to find a bigger house and start all over again!
 
The MA6600 sure is a beautiful piece, in sound and looks. I got to play with one at the local stereo shop several times. If I was building a system from scratch I would seriously consider getting the MA6600. :yes:

Yes, it is great. I have been an integrated amp fan for some time. One of those overlooked 'nuggets' in the McIntosh line. A single unit with newest and highest technology. Same quality amp and pre-amp as separates. And now an innovative HD tuner. :thmbsp:
 
I've had my 6600 for 6 or 7 weeks now and I'm at the point where it seems that everything I throw at it sound great!:yes: I'm honestly not sure what's breaking in, the amp or my ears but it's really coming together. I couldn't be happier.
