MAAS Chimes Amplifier

Hello, I’m pretty new to the forum but I have recently come into possession of great grandfathers MAAS Chimes amplifier, and know nothing about it. General information would be a big help, or where I could find a manual (if it still exists). I want to know what it does, how to use it, how to go about repairs if need be, and if it can be used in conjunction with newer equipment. I believe it’s for an organ (but like I said know nothin) and I have a Hammond C3.

Hi, its not for an organ but rather an amplifier for speakers in church belfries for electronic chimes.

The churches with up to date chimes would have a room with the amp and a recording of different pattern chimes for different parts of the day and would be set with a multi on/off timer mechanism.

The amp is like any mono amp but sometimes the brand suggests that they were built more rugged than your standard hifi amplifier as it was usually just set and forget and would play for many many years without maintenance.

It would probably require the same general maintenance as any other amplifier such as checking and/or replacing capacitors, resistors, and tubes.

Awesome! Thankyou! Now for getting this thing working with a guitar or organ for the hell of it. Where would be a good place to start for that? Building a cab? Or something along those lines?

Wow, that thing is cool. Look at the controls, even has an input for a wire recorder. And that tuning eye! Never saw a clipping indicator like that. I think a way cool guitar amp is the perfect project or even a harp amp. I hang at a blues jam club, the harp guys would kill for that.
