I have a Mac 1900 and a stand alone tube phono stage for vinyl, can I use the phone stage with the 1900 ? and if so, how would I hook it up ?
Thanks,
Kirk

I have tried connecting to tape input 1 & 2, both just have a hum
Attached is a diagram from the manual.

One would assume you would connect to ph 1 or ph 2?

No, you would not as it is a stand alone Phono pre-amp which the output is designed to go into a normal line level input, NOT a phono input.
So that includes Tape, Aux, CD, type inputs.....

After connecting the turntable to the preamp and the preamp to the Tape Mon input, do you have to select a button on the front panel to engage the tape monitor input? I don't recall the setup on the 1900 but I believe there's a pushbutton for tape playback.

Sell the tube phono stage and send the money from that along with your MAC 1900 to Terry DeWick for refurbishment and audio upgrade (if not already done). Then just connect your TT to the phono 1 input on the 1900.
