Mac 4100 Receiver - no right channel on the phono

Johncan

Record collector
I just got a Mac 4100 receiver and I get no signal on the right channel when I use Phono 1 or Phono 2. When I engage the mono switch, I get a mono signal from both channels.

Aux 1 and Aux 2 input work just fine with both channels as does AM and FM.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Could be either a bad transistor in the phono stage, a bad connection to the phono input, or bad capacitor/capacitors in the phono stage. The 4100 is a superb unit with a really nice phono stage.

Im not an experienced tech, but try testing various parts of the special phono preamp. most likely a bad component,(transistor, capasitor, etc) on the phono preamp. just a thought. very nice receiver, hope you get it working properly. :thmbsp: I want one.
