MAC 4300V Lamps

I'm digging into my MAC 4300v. Boy this unit is a pleasure to work on. After 20 years it just needed a few switches and pots cleaned and the heatsink compund renewed. Clean as a whistle inside.

One of the Festoon lamps is out.
McIntosh P/N 058101.
6mm D x 42mm L 12V 150mA

I have looked at:
Digi-Key
Mouser

No joy.

I would prefer to keep this unit as original as possible.
All the LED replacements I've found are 10mm D so won't fit.

Anyone know of a source?

I remember these were getting hard to find few years ago. Probably were available but $$$.
I am sure someone will post more info...

For my MR71 I used similarly sized bulb and applied white acrylic as originals had.
You might want to search for LEDs and try that. It’s not that you’d spend a ton of money if you don’t like them.
Google is your friend.

I have an e-mail into them and also Mark at Absolute Sound Labs.

All the replacement LED lamps are 10mm diameter and will interfere with the front panel. I may be able to use a 3AG size fuse lamp and solder the ends from the old festoon lamp onto it.

I have done that but made little hooks from cut off cap leads....added some metal foil tape to the outside instead of the white sticker the orginal lamps used.

Thanks - that would be an easier mod and will work as well. I will get the 3AG lamps on order. I also found a ‘naked’ LED festoon lamp that might fit with a little tweaking.

I’ve reassembled my 4300v so I don’t lose or damage any parts. I really like the ease of service McIntosh built into this unit.

Guessing you found the lamp, but I needed to replace one of mine, and got it here: www.dgwojo.com I think he's a member here, as well.

Thanks! Sometimes procrastination pays. I finished all the other work and put the unit on the shelf and forgot to order the lamps. I'll check into dgwojo.com. Thanks for the tip!
