MacIntosh,Tannoy question

Hi. I'm trying to get some information about some audio gear I own. Several years ago I purchased a mono system from an estate. It consists of a Tannoy Speaker in a GRF cabinet. (I believe it's a red.)
The amplifier is a MacIntosh MC40. There is also a Tannoy Autograph preamplifier. I have the original brochures etc. The three units were purchased in Toronto at Bay Bloor Audio in the 60's.
All three are in good working order.
Anyone have a ball park estimation of what these items are worth?

"I think it's a red" and "good working order" aren't enough info to give a valuation. Welcome to AK.

Here are some pics. BTW I have never taken the back off of the cabinet so I'm basing my belief (maybe mistakenly) that it's a 15" gold speaker inside by the color of the dome which can be seen if you shine a flashlight through the grill. It looks like the domes of images of 15" reds that I've seen online.

Early Tannoy Red with the orange dust cap then? Very cool preamp. Tannoy didn't sell many of those. Thanks for sharing...
 
Is pulling the back particularly difficult? The condition on the pieces looks pretty good. Lots of Mac experts here.
 
Pretty likely you did great on your purchase. You can find unrestored MC40 prices on Ebay. Don't know about the Preamp, and the speaker will depend on confirmation of exactly what it is (and its functional condition). People ask the world for 15" Red speakers. Sellers net up to $2,000 for functional singles. Having a matching pair can raise the per-speaker price substantially.
 
Tannoys can be a tough sell. I had a pair of 15" reds and if I recall I might have gotten 2k for the pair. They are advertised for much more, but unless you want to take a chance on ebay, 2K might be out of reach.
