Maggie 86-01 volume control question

I did a modified version of Kegger's 86-01 mods. When I install a 100k volume control it goes from minimum to max within about 1/8th of the rotation of the pot. There is a 10k resistor from the 5 and 8 pins of the 6EU7 to the inputs and 1Megs to ground. I've also tried it with 270k to ground. Any ideas?

Make sure you have a pot with an audio taper and not a linear taper .

All the packaging said was stereo volume control. There are two rows of three terminals. I assume the top row is one channel and the bottom the other with the center terminal being ground. That's how the original control was wired. How can I tell what type it is?

Log taper pots have the letter "A" as a suffix, and linear pots "B".

Has a "A" prefix rather than suffix and package says audio taper so OK there.
