Maggies, 1.5QR?

I know many feel the (1.6QR) was a turning point for maggies but I may
have an opportunity to pick up a pair of 1.5QR at a very intriguing trade/
price and have never had Maggies in my home so I'd like to get a taste.

Just want to know how others feel these stack up?
How do they compare to the inexpensive MMG's?

Any info on them, I can't find much?
Are they a worthy speaker?

I think they are all good to varying degrees, get them. :thmbsp:

From what I've read, the 1.5QR has some integration issues that were resolved with the 1.6QR, but there are supposed to be modifications out there to bring it almost up to par. If the price is right and the Maggies are in good condition, they're definitely worth checking out and are a sizable jump up from the MMGs.

Of course, the best place to search for more information on Maggies is the Magnepan Users Group (MUG).

I've allways thought that if I had the chance to get some MMG's I would and feel
I'd like them quite a bit, so if the 1.5QR is definatly an upgrade from those then I'd
think that these should be something I'd like to go after.

They are suppose to be in very good mechanical shape with the grills needing attention.
