Magnavox 1964 Astro Sonic Stereo Hi-Fi

Hello - I am new to posting in Forums but, I recently got a 1964 Magnavox astrosonic from my Grandmother and noticed the left channel has no sound. I used the contract cleaner and the right side has gotten a lot louder/clearer but there was no difference on the left side. When I turn the volume all the way up with the right channel disconnected, I can hear a faint signal coming through the left channel. Can anyone help with this issue? I am a little hesitant to take out the electronics to check if the capacitors are blown as this is a family heirloom - Any help is appreciated :)

Most likely bad caps, also possible open transistor, but bad caps is the most likely problem.

Be sure to deoxit the speaker selector switch and function switches also.

Thank you! Are there any step by step instructions I can look at that has pictures - unfortunately I am a visual learner. haha. I need all the help I can get - is it okay to take apart the console - I'm so nervous? Its so old and I don't want to hurt the wood.
