Magnavox 9302-10 oddity

I have two 9302-10 amps that came from identical model 2ST669A two piece consoles. The cabinets were in poor condition, so I salvaged the amps. One of the amps is marked 9302-10 NIGHT. and has the balance control on the amp. Anyone ever seen this and have any idea what the "NIGHT" designation means? Both consoles IMG_0504.JPG IMG_0503.JPG were identically equipped with the MPX adaptor.

I had one once that had "NIGHT" on it, I never did figure out what it meant as for.

I have seen stamps and etchings of Bugs Bunny and Speedy Gonzales inside my old Spectro Acoustics amplifier on the circuit boards themselves.

Not sure if those stamps mean anything but it reminds me of the inspectors tags you sometimes see inside new clothes.

If you have the means, open up old chips and under a microscope, you can see all kinds of things that the engineers etched onto them.

I have a 9305-00 that has the “night” stamp”. My amp is fully restored except for the OPT’s but it sounds fantastic. Your finished unit is just outstanding. Wish mine looked that nice. Terrific work!

Thanks for the kind words, brentj4. Looks like Cademan is probably right. An inspectors stamp is the only thing that makes sense.
