Hi all! Recently picked up this Magnavox console off of marketplace. Absolutely enamored with it and trying to sponge up all the information I can. I was pointed in the direction of these forums and told ya’ll were the best minds around on the topic.

Can anyone tell me more specifics about the model/year of this console? Anything else anyone could share is a major bonus, I’m a total newb here.IMG_8057.pngIMG_6251.jpegIMG_6250.jpeg

AstroSonic models are solid state, so not older than about 1965, but probably not much newer than maybe 1970. The record changer styling changed a little later on, and the cabinet isn't that 1970s fugly style that they all seemed to turn into.

A model number might narrow it down a bit more. Usually on a tag on the back.

Even though the turntable says "Micromatic" and is a Collaro made in England and looks like the turntables in the older tube consoles, but look closely at the platter. The mat is a little thinner and the total circumference is larger than the one's you see in tubed units.

Astro-Sonic had about 3 or 4 different console receiver versions and I think the very next one up from this one had the different controls & faceplate and the newer looking turntables.
