Hey guys
Hope I put this in the correct group...... I have an early 60's vacuum tube magnavox console. It was passed down to me as a family heirloom,. I am trying to locate the power wire (or substitute) for my magnavox micromatic turntable. The wire is made up of three separate wires and two connectors. I can make the wires up no problem but I need the connectors. Does anyone know to find something like this? Some one please help as I have spent a decent amount of money getting the turntable rebuilt and would like to test it out.

If its like most turntable power connectors, what you're after is called a molex connector. You should be able to get one from most electronics suppliers for a couple bucks.
 
are the three wires just AC? positive/hot/ground? or something else? I was thinking of pulling the table out of a junker in my garage, but was unsure how to hook it up by it's self to AC. sorry to hijack the thread
 
not sure but I think 2 of the wires are same side of the changer AC in series w/ phono off on switch . The phono switch was usually utilized as the on/ off switch for the amp & preamp and turntable when selector was in phono position other one should be the other side of ac but I would refer to someone more knowledgeable or a diagram or trace it with vom . I could be wrong it varied by manufacture so double check .Also post at VideoKharma lotta ex Maggie techs there
the consoles usually grounded through the rca cables as hum was not as big of an issue with ceramic cartridges Gadget is probably correct about the molex connectors. but I have seen some older maggies with proprietary 3 pin connectors

I think you are correct I remember reading something of a connector but it is not the molex style. I think it was the earlier one amp-lok maybe or amp-lock. Its a square connector. What electronic suppliers would you guys recommend?
 
Don't know if this will help, but here is a Maggie wiring diagram, with phono connecs.

As frankxbe stated, the turntable will turn on the amp to play records, if yours has other sources, the source switch acts as power on-off to the amp when used.

Make sense!!??

Thank you tuquala for posting that schematic I am sure it will be useful. But I am still looking for the connectors. I could simply open up the receiver and splice wires but I would rather not butcher this I like things to go together the way they were built.

Hi and welcome. If you post up some pics someone may have some. Magnavox seems to have used a bunch of different connectors.

This is from the manual, it is a picture of the receptacle not the plug I need. I cannot get a picture right now but will post one asap.
