Magnavox Micromatic turning slow

I have a 1968 Magnavox Astro Sonic console with a Micromatic W620 turntable. The turntable was turning a little slow when playing records and the record changer was not working. I took the turntable out and cleaned out all the old grease and lubricated the unit including the motor. Record changer is now working great but the turntable is still running slow. Any ideas on what I should check next?

Check the state of the rubber on the idler wheel; it may be hardened or hardening and not making contact as it should as a result.
 
i am as well have speed trouble with my turntable. its the same model (1969 magnavox astro sonic with micromatic w620-11-00) its a nice unit and the cabinet is in excellent shape!! ive done all the proper maintenance to as it didnt even spin when i got it. i read all other posts on how to tear it down and re-grease everything. i got everything to work as it should...except the speed is off. i even took the motor apart to clean it and oiled it as well. when all is back together i noticed that the wheel does not sit properly on each level of the motor shaft when i ran it without the plate on. when its set to 78, its at the very top of the shelf and slips up to the 45 shelf. it seems as if the wheel needs to be lower or the shaft of the motor needs to be higher. ive noticed some play with the motor shaft before i took it out to clean it. i dont know if there are any adjustments to made with this or not. i also think i need a new bearing kit as well. i know that can play a part too, but the plate spins for about 25 secs after it shuts off. any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
 
I had a micromatic a few years ago. The idler sits on a plate which should move freely. Mine had seized, you remove a circlip remove the idler. The plate underneath the idler should move freely back and forth. If it doesn't remove, clean and re-grease and replace. you should be able to move the idler plate freely about 1/2". If the idler plate does not move freely it does not make good contact with platter. im sure that contact is not my issue. ive taken my idler wheel off, and greased everything. it moves freely back and forth. when it was together, i could put slight pressure on the platter and it took some resistance to slow it down. ive been reading about the motor maintenance and how the bearing should be oiled. well, when i took mine apart, the pictures attached is what i found. no bearing. is this right? the wires had been cut and soldered back together and taped. maybe this was a replacement motor?

Need some help. I have a Micromatic W821 TT which ran great for 2 weeks after I cleaned and applied new lubricant on all parts, cleaned the idler wheel and cleaned and lubricated the motor spindle. Yesterday it started to run slow 30.3 rpm on 33 1/3 and I think it might be the motor?. could anyone give me instructions on taking the motor apart and cleaning or an idea where I might find a replacement motor. I'm even open to have the entire TT rebuilt since the sound was so good when it ran at correct speed.

Where can I get some instruction on how to tear it down and re-grease everything?

I'm new to this and want to get my Barcelona up and running!
