I have 2 magnavox 50 watt mono blocks. Each amp has 8 output tubes and 2 rectifier tubes. Talk about sweat. the sound is off the charts. Must akt fast as I am not going to sit on these long. If they are here in two days I will list them on ebay. I would much rather sell them locally to avoid all the BS that ebay put me threw. 815-623-1688

I'd bet they used optimistic numbers and then added the bass output to the treble output. Something like six tubes 6V6 PPP=38 watts and 2 tubes PP=12 watts so 38+12= 50 watts total per mono block.

Interesting. If it's a good deal, someone should pick them up. I could make the drive, but the capacitor thing and the fact that none of them (recently) have gone for more than $150 on ebizzle worries me.

That is about the best of the best as far as Magnavox console amps go, but unless you have the proper speakers to use with them, they aren't as useful. Those have a built-in crossover about 1khz, so you need speakers that take bi-amp inputs and are favorable to a 1khz cross point, or you have to build your own. Also seems to me the price is high for unrestored amps. I'd expect with a $500 price tag to have all new caps and at least a tested and verified good set of tubes. I'd also like to see them in some sort of a base so they don't look so utilarian. Both of my 9300s are "naked" but I didn't pay much for them either.

I wish he hadn't torn up the console. That always makes me sad. Bet he could've gotten $500 for it, too.

Good advice, thanks.
