Magnavox vs. Cerwin Vegas

Assuming the same price, which of these would be more desirable?

Magnavox Model S-8755 (2 way, 12" alnico woofer, and a 4" x 10" metal horn)
or
Cerwin Vega AT-12 (3-way, bass reflex, 12" Woofer, (2)5" Mids and 1" Tweeter)

I realize we're comparing a two-way to a three-way, so I guess I'm looking for opinions on either.

THANKS!

Me personally, I'd go with the Cerwin Vegas. The Mags are ok and do have their following but they are typically going to have a rolled off high end (no sizzle) whereas the CV's would have a broader frequency range. To me anyway...

The Mag's can be made to sound better than their stock form via a re-working of the crossover to one that does impedance compensation. But between the two evils in stock form, CV wins hands downn.

+1 To me, those Magnavox speaks sound pretty awful, but YMMV.

I would try to rework, and or up grade the Magnevox-CV's are good for playing loud at party's though....
