Thanks anyways. I've already decided Maggies aren't quite my speed. Great speakers, but kinda unreliabale and they just don't have the chops for loud rock. I don't listen to enough "avante garde" music to justify them.

Had a pair of MMG's brand new quite some time ago. Ran them with a Sumo pwr and a Crown pre. From what I can remember they sounded great on jazz and classical and some classic rock, but the new stuff....eh...well...you know. But hey, they were more than expected for an entry level speaker by far. For 100 bucks, what do you have to lose?

Sorry, it was Pboy14 who says they're unreliable. I have never heard of any Maggy being unreliable. Dunking in a swimming pool? I bought a new pair of MG1's in 1976. Since then I have owned nothing but panels of one type or another including MG2's, MG3's, Quad ESL 57's and various Acoustats. I currently use Acoustat Spectra 2200's in front and Model 1's in the rear. :smoke:
