Magneplanar soeakers

If they are sound MG-IIIa speakers they are worth $300; they look like a smaller model. Be sure to verify that the ribbon tweeter is working. If you remove the tweeter fuse you should hear a drop in treble output; if it stays the same the tweeter is not working. Also be careful moving and transporting them. I hope he has the tweeter protectors Magnepan supplies. Good luck!

They do look like MGIIIa's camera distortion makes them look thiner.
Regards,
Jim

Look like the 1.4 if they are short. But they might be 6 footers in which case they are either 2.5 or 2.6 speakers. These are NICE speakers. If the tweeters work, saving the purchase of new ribbons (a c-note a pop exchange plus 40 or so total shipping) and all that is needed is some bass panel wires reglued that is a fair price.

The 1.4s didn't have the inverted "T" style feet. They had the angled "L" style.

I think they look like 1.5s - maybe 1.7s if you're lucky... too tall & narrow to be IIIas. Well worth a look for $300.
