Magnivox Tone Control Board

So I have a 1964 magnivox stereophonic that I restored recently and has been playing great. Currently it is not sending much to the left side speakers and when I turn the balance knob it is tight and doesn’t seem to do anything. Can I replace the tone knob board with a newer one? If so any help on how to do that.

background: found this unit in my garage when I moved in (super lucky find) rebuilt the bottom , took apart the turntable and cleaned it, replaced the solid state amp with an original from the same year and replaced the wiring.

More likely the amplifier needs servicing than the tone control board needs to be replaced. If this is all-original solid state from 1964, thats quite a long time ago on parts that just weren't expected to last that long.

could also be a problem with the cartridge, wiring, or speakers. Really need to do some diag work to figure out where the problem is.

I agree. All of the wiring is new, when I bought the amp that I pieced in it was an original ,the cartridge is original. My major concern that drew me to the conclusion of the board is the knobs don’t turn so freely except the volume. I feel like regardless these need replacement anyway so if it helps troubleshoot I’ll take it.
