Main system poll results.

Collectively, JVC, Concept, Technics, Dynaco, SAE, Radio Shack, Scott, Sherwood, etc. should outdistance any of the top 2 with ease. Is it possible these brands for the most part are trade fodder?

Remember, the poll was for main systems, not many people use those brands for mains.
So yes, trade fodder indeed.
Thanks for your inquiry, but, no, my Concept 16.5 is not "trade fodder" - it is my main system: In fact, it has relegated, inter alia, a CR-2020 and SPEC1 - SPEC 4 separates to the closet....do I need to say more?

Rgds,
If that is your prerogative then so be it, but you are one of the few who has taken that venture into primaritizing a Concept receiver. :thmbsp:

Only three or four 16.5s have sold over at a certain auction site so far this year, so even getting hold of one to audition, let alone making one your primary amp, can be a challenge for reasons of scarcity: I cannot prove this and don't have any numbers, but I would probably compare it to the 2500, 2600, and CR-3020 - from this vintage - in terms of scarcity. I also only know of a couple of AK'ers that own the 16.5.

Or it could simply be that the 16.5 is more prevalent than trade figures would suggest simply because people refuse to let them go!
