making bread

updating

Well its been 2 years in the making but im really putting this amp on a chassis now. The weather is keeping me from painting but i live in TX. so that will change soon. I wont waist time with a bunch of words here are the pics so far...

Used lexan to make the first chassis that way there will be no missplaced holes in the metal. much cheaper and easier..

Nice work!, I would have a dead cat in 5 min. flat...

You beat me to it, I was going to say with all that exposed wiring, it would be a real "cat-killer!" (I still don't like all those clip leads, they always have a habit of popping off without your touching them!).

Great build,:tresbon: the "breadboard" method was almost the way to go for building anything home brew electronic years ago.:thmbsp:

I would need some cheap or free iron for two Duckane PA amps I would re-build (I was told that fidelity would be poor with 70 Volt secondaries sharing space with the 8 Ohm ones) tubes are top cap 6CD6GA.:scratch2:

It's a fairly simple matter to measure xfmr frequency response, phase shift, etc. at low levels. If you're still not sure, then why not breadboard the amp anyway? At worst, you discover that better xfmrs are needed, in which case your breadboard is all ready to go when you decide to part with the cash for better ones.
