Man, the 1060 is sweet

Oh, one more thing. I got my 1060 in clean condition with the wood case for under $100. That said, I still had to get it recapped and all of the pots cleaned and lubed. I think I was charged another $80.00 for the work. It was WELL worth it. This little amp is an absolute gem. I like it so much that I am going to have the wood case re-veneered.

I agree that the 1060 is quite a step above the 1060B. Not that the 1060B is not a good entry level amp, but without the pre/main you are limited in expanding.

The 1060B is a One card amplifier, and for a person new to Marantz it is great for your first recap. I just finished restoring one and I decided to keep it rather than flip (bad habit).

The 1060 has larger filter caps, a mid frequency adjust, monitor out, mic in, discrete lo and hi filter, discrete L and R mono and so on.

Great little amp! Similar in architecture to the 2230 receiver if I remember correctly.
Regards,
Jim
