Celebrating Life
Really awesome workmanship and great explanation of the restore. :tresbon:
Someday I will recap my 2270, but I have no need for it right now. I just completely restored my Hafler DH 220 using a Musical Concept lit with better components than it ever had. It sounds better than ever, meaning that it sounds a bit different, to make it sound better. It had about a three month break in period were the sound had phases such as: (1) instantly better and improving - (2) all of a sudden kind of dry - (3) warming and improving again reaching an amazingly good sound.
I noticed that most re-caps projects use much better parts than what were available back in the day. Can you describe the sound in comparison to before the restore? Do you notice changes as it breaks in?
thanks, Bob
