Marantz 1060 vs 1060b vs 1090

I always read about this 1060 having a warm sound, "the closest to tube sound from an SS amp". May I know, what is the tube sound? I only own SS amps (Marantz 1060, and MC2205), so I don't really know.

You don't need to add this comment to every post you read about your Marantz 1060 and its tube sound. If you don't know the difference between ss and tube sound and don't want to read where some have written about it, just post that question as a thread of your very own instead of adding this to more than one thread throughout AK. Duplicate posting is frowned on and since you have a legitimate question that many might like to participate in answering or at least reading, making your very own thread could be beneficial to many. Roll on over to the General Audio Discussion forum and Post New Thread with your question. You are not alone, others want to know the answer to your query.

Sorry about that, the first post was asked in the Years Past section, so I thought I'd better asked also in the SS forum. Have made one new thread in the General Audio Discussion forum as suggested.
