Hi Guys,

Calling out to all you Marantz amp fans out there. I'd be super grateful if someone could tell me the best way to find a Wood case, I think its the wc-10, for my recently purchase 1060. I just missed out on one on the EBAY...

Any advice would be appreciated...

Thanks in advance....

lurk

Just lurk on ebay and wait for the next one...or the one after that...until the price is right.

Best source I know other that a very lucky break or make your own.

Thanks man,....I guess they pop up on EBAY quite regulary then.

FYI - I found these guys who make Custom Cabinets, I hate to think how much they cost!!!

Dan does real nice work, and is an nice guy to deal with. His prices aren't cheap, but aren't too bad for what you get, and considering what vintage cabinets in questionable shape go for on fleaBay. I had him make a set of cabinets for my Mac gear

^^^Impressive :) but I have a noob question..how can those amp breathe?

There is a vent grill on the top of the power amp case, and the backs and most of the bottoms of all the cases are open. The power amp also runs very cool at the levels at which I listen (I've never used more than about 35W of the 350W I have on tap, and if my wife is home it doesn't get above 3.5W :nono:).

Dan also makes cabinets for tube gear (I have a set for some old Scott gear I have, although for the time being those are showpieces and not hooked up), so I'd think he's pretty aware of heat issues.
