Marantz 1122DC Help With Replacing Relay

Hello everyone. I purchased a replacement relay for my 1122DC integrated amp. I opened up the unit to desolder the old relay, but then I saw that the relay was glued to one of the larger caps. How can I remove this? It is pretty solidly glued on there and I don't want to pry on it. Any suggestions? See my photos for reference.

I would gently pry to release it. A putty knife might work well. Broad surface. No telling what type of glue the person used. It's not the original relay [nte] and not the original location. It belongs down on the board.

Would it be worth the savings in time / aggravation to replace the cap as well?

If you knew the type of glue, you might be able to soften the glue chemically. Some super glues (cyanoacrylates) are often weakened by commercially available lacquer thinner or acetone.
 
It'll come off. Just try the heating method, the prising method and perhaps the acetone method.

Can't believe some bodgy clown glued it. :(
