Marantz 120B FM/AM Stereo Tuner Bi-Pin Voltage Ratings?

Hello
Does anyone know the voltage ratings for the Marantz 120B tuner? I think they ll should be 6.3V? Usually the bi-pin bulb voltage is different for the stereo pnale bulb as with for example the Marantz 4400 Quad receiver.
Thanks
Anthony

Hi Anthony. If you are asking about the voltage ratings of the 6 function indicator lamps then, yes, they are 6.3V 40ma incandescent bulbs. I can't be positive re the stereo bulb however, as mine was burned out. I have heard that some stereo lamps are actually red, not clear, and are 12V bulbs. But since the 120B has a red colored 'window' for its stereo indicator, using a clear 6.3V bulb is fine. I replaced all mine with white LED lamps and installed a new piece of velum. They are a bit brighter than the original incandescents but I also replaced all the panel display bulbs with frosted warm-white 'fuse-type' bulbs so everything matches pretty well.

Originally, I had planned to just replace the burned-out stereo lamp but after going through all the effort to access the bulb mounting panel I decided to just replace them all with LEDs.

I don't know if this helps, but here is the schematic and PL for the Marantz 120.

Hello
Thank you for your response. I know from the 4400 bi-pins, Marantz did add a 12V bi-pin for the stereo quad function. I have the schematics for the 120B but no voltages are marked for the bulbs except the scope bulb. As most Marantz reveivers/tuner do have the bezel already colored coded I have always used original incandescent bulbs to keep it original. However, the stereo bulbs being 12V have melted the plastic housing with a beige burnt color. and so will replace it with a LED type. I have trying to find the right vellium white thickness and found that I believe its about a 200gsm weight. The 100gsm I bought was too thin. What weight are you using?
Thanks my friend.

Hello
Thanks for your reply. I have the service manual but does not specify the voltages except for the fuse type lamps. Most Marantz tuners and receivers using the bi-pins are 6.3V but on the 120B the stereo bulb is unknown unless its still 6.3V across the board. I have a Marantz 4400 and the stereo bulb is 12V. Could it be that the 120B stereo bulb be the same at 12V?
Thanks!
Anthony

Sorry, can't tell you because I got it from a friend who works on Marantz amps. You can always double up the velum you have and see if that gives you the level of brightness you want. I used Scotch Double Sided Tape Runner to attach the velum and bezel to the frame. I would think the same double-sided adhesive would work well to glue two pieces of velum together at the edges.
