Marantz 125

Hello everyone. I wanted your opinion on a deal I came across. A Marantz 125 for $250. Seller claims it's in excellent condition and it looks like it. Thoughts on this Marantz and the deal? I'm novice to the stereo world...Thank you.

Probably should post this in Dollars and Sense. But I have a 125, and it is a great tuner. Value just depends on physical and working condition. Price seems fair for one in very good condition.

Tuners are cheap these days. Only the good ones hold value. Seems this is one of the good ones. this one sold new for 340 list price and would sell for about its model number if it weren't for the blue lights and Marantz name on it. That is the Marantz Tax charged because of the high demand for the brand. If you want Marantz it seems the guys above think this is a decent deal. The two sold on the bay were 200 and 250 so this one is in that range.

Thank for all your replies. I've heard nothing but good reviews on this tuner so it seems I will own it. It sure is beautiful...

Not to sound like a "father knows best" internet dude, but please keep in mind that this is a tuner only. You will need an amplifier as well.

Its said to be the same tuner as the scoped 150. The 125 uses meters, the 150 a scope. I gave a 120 scooped tuner to my son. The scope is cool eye candy and they put an off switch on the scoped tube to help the cathode tube last longer.
