Marantz 140 Power amp temporarily used with 1070 as pre/Power consumption

Hi guys, I've spotted a nice Marantz 140 power amp that I still didn't receive but the problem is that I have no preamp yet to use with it. Also, the 140 does not have a power knob, so using the (un)switched outlet of another amp seems perfect.

I have a 1070 amp (also a 2235B but the 1070 is ideal as it matches the looks) that I could use as preamp.

Now, thing is the 140 is a powerful amp, and if I read correctly below it requires 300w; while the 1070 shows 185w (max 200w)...

Then, my question is, can I use the 1070 as a preamp or do I need another solution?

I used to use this in my multi-amp home theater system:

They quit making it but you can find them on auction sites. It can be triggered by older equipment by sending a line-level signal (Tape out, for example) and each outlet handles 15amps. Hope this helps.
