Marantz 1520 Volume Level Drops

I have a Marantz 1520 Receiver which occasionally the Volume Level Drops and then minutes later increases back to the initial level? I've had it stored away for years and really like the unit but want to know what the issue may be and if it's worth spending money having it tested & Repaired. I know it's later in Marantz production, mid 1970's. Thank you for your help!

Is this only on AM/FM? Is so tuner related and can stay in this forum. If not I will move this to the Marantz forum.
