marantz 170dc amp VU meters

Hi,

is there some type of calibration/repair you can do on the vu meters? I have a 170dc amp and the left channel vu meter barely moves. There is no problem with the sound out of the channel, it is just the lack of movement on the vu meter. thanks

I have a pair of meters off a donor unit I came across. You can try them if you want. I'll check and see how easy they come out. No charge just pay freight.

It is early in the morning as I read this so forgive me if the answer is painfully obvious, but how do you set the output of the speaker termianls to 9 v rms?(step 3)

you need a sine-wave into the inputs and i presume it will also need an 8 ohm load on the speaker terminals

The meter circuit is voltage driven, so no load is required.
