its psychology also however back in the golden age of audio. They took pride in thier work. the best technology went into the product. It was built to last and sound great. it was american made top quality stuff not like todays junk from china. even if you buy a high end item today more than likely much of the electronics boards are made in china including a mercedes benz ferrari porsche.
Back then you trusted what you paid for and you knew it was built like a first class product. today you cant trust whats at future shop best buy target or even high end shops.
Todays marketing is way more untrustworthy than back then.
China is even in mcintosh today lets face the facts. thats scary
With that I'll ignore all of your future posts and trolling threads. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, and apparently ZERO experience with current high end, American made gear. You're just making **** up because you have a built in bias, most likely based on a hunch or something you read on another forum, and not from one second owning some of the modern high end gear. Besides that, the gear that does have Chinese parts in it- Chinese people have two arms and ten fingers just like you do, and they have a very healthy Hi-end community that is actually buying up this classic American made gear, because they appreciate it just like anybody should. And they make gear based on this appreciation, and a lot of it is very good. This jingoistic stupidity that is trolled about on some many vintage focused "I peaked in my glory days in the '70s" boards., is just hogwash. You guys just make **** up about stuff you have no experience with. You probably spun the dial on a plastic receiver at Best Buy and decided that you then and there learned everything there is to know about the modern state of the audio business.
The same jingoistic crap was thrown about regarding stuff made in Japan in the '70s, about what crap it was, calling it "jap crap" no less, and now you guys are collecting it like it was made from gold, because you have a new culture to look down upon and feel all high and mighty because your brain and two arms and two legs is somehow superior to somebody with the same damn thing. Good gear is good gear- and you seem to be obsessed with that, because every one of the threads you've started in the past two days asks that question, they ask "which is best, which is king, which is the top?". You know what is the top? Modern separates, at at least separates made in the last 15 years or so. At their best, they level everything else. They are SO much better than a '70s receiver that it boggles the mind.
You also wanted us to stop kidding around and talk AUDIO. Well lets go Vinny. Let's talk audio. What do you have to bring to the table besides some quotes you pulled from ebay and a slew of biases, in gear and culture and vintage? Because if you really want to find out the best, you might want to look at modern Pass Labs separates. Or I'd let you borrow my Klyne preamp, and you can put it up against a Marantz unit from the '70s. It's not vintage, its American made, and it has American sourced parts. You come here and criticize the whole board for not taking this seriously, as if it were your board and your place to tell us how to run the site. So lets get serious. Let's talk about what we know, and what we have heard, instead of what we copied and pasted from a website. Do you have a 10b and 20b? What are your personal impressions of them, because you have already made up your mind which is best. What does the 20b give you that the 10b doesn't?
