Marantz 2215 picking up interference

Hello wise sages of AK,

I'm getting interference noise from my receiver, like a high-pitched screechy static noise in my right speaker. I know it's coming from the receiver because I hear the same noise when I plug in the headphones. So I was wondering would Ferrite beads work if I clamped them to the power cord? What diameter Ferrite bead would I need for the power cord? Thanks in advance for the help.

Check all solder connections in that channel. If it were true rf interference, it would appear in both channels so ferrite beads probably won't help in this situation.

The thing is, I experience the same interference noise in my mono speaker radio I have in my kitchen. So I feel it may be the outlet or some frequency in the air.
 
Do you have fluorescent lighting or a dimmer switch in close proximity to either.

My cell phone will induce some funny noises if placed real close to a receiver etc. My router will too.

Just a few things to look for.

No fluorescent lights or dimmer. Turned off wireless router and have taken computers and cell phones out of the room. I've pretty much narrowed it down to either the wall socket or the cell tower on the roof of my building. Like I said. the radio in my kitchen has the same noise coming through. Would ferrite beads help with such interference?
 
its odd to be one channel only . not sure if it has mono switch for radio ? if so try it for fun.
a recording of it may help .

If tried every combo of switches and dials. I'm not sure if I can upload a video on here, can I? I think I've tried before and it would only allow photos. :(
 
So does anyone know if ferrite beads will block the sound or diminish it? If the sound is coming from the outlet, it has a better chance of working?
 
Cell tower on roof, yikes. Any LED lights in the house? Is the receiver connected to a power strip with AC line filtering? One thing to check is run the receiver on headphones only with the speaker wires disconnected and see if it can still be heard. Rf noise can be introduced from the AC lines. Have a Tripp-Lite with line filtering on my TVs. When I used the stereo always used one. It cleaned up the sound of the amp. Noisy AC lines in the middle of town. A bad ground could help introduce RF interference into the amp. Remember a thread on this, have to look.
