Marantz 2215B re lamp

Having said all this, yes tuned to a station. Stereo light on, dial in the middle but the pointer is not. It is supposed to be tuned to 100.00 dead.

Sorry just re read your post, I understand now. I am the sprat (thanks! :D). I have never seen it, probably why its taken a while to sink in..... doh! (again this evening....)

So really I have two problems. The needle position and the fact there is no stereo light on with phono and aux.

Centered needle is correct, that's what it is supposed to look like on FM. AM uses the dashes and it's supposed to swing right with signal strength. It's all good now bro, should sound different now on FM- in stereo!

Yes sounds good in glorious stereo! :) But the dial pointer is not in the correct position.. :cry:

Where can I look for the aux and phono problem? :tears:
 
The dial pointer can be adjusted- find a station high on the scale and adjust trimming cap CF-3. Find a station on the low end of the scale and adjust the core of osc coil L103- you may need a plastic tool to do this one, usually hex. As for aux and phono, what's the issue?

Thanks, I'll try :scratch2:. I've never adjusted a tuner before.:no:

The aux and phono I get no stereo light when either of those inputs are selected. :no::tears:
 
Ok bro- let's try this again for the third time. The stereo light does not come on with aux and phono selections.
 
Oh, I didn't know that. How silly do I feel? I was comparing it to my 2230. As soon as those selections are made the stereo light comes on.

So anyway, I guess I'll do the vellum paper to complete this thread off for the full re-lamp experience. Ill post it up shortly. :)
 
When adjusting fm- do very slight adjustments- a 1/16th to an 1/8th of a turn should move it to the station if its slightly off.
 
After having now giving my little receiver a new look from the previous vacant looking one before (no lamps), I have finally put bktheking's donation to my cause to good use.

I hope you see this bk?!

Here we are started out with the donor dial plate and the old scratched one, with red tape on. It was a bit of a pig to cut out of the old frame. I ran a sharp blade around the outside and lifted one corner and cut the horrible rubbery, stringy glue off.

Cleaned off all the glue from the donor dial plate ready for glueing in the old frame.

Put a small bead of pva general purpose glue around the outside of the frame. Not so much that it overspills onto the outside of the glass.

Laid the new dial plate on and put another bead around the outside and weighted down with 4x 1lb reels of solder and put on top of a radiator to cure for a couple of hours.

And here we are all done. New dial plate all scratch free and looking nice with some lamps too. :banana:

I'm just glad you kept it. I owe you a massive thank you for that. Cheered up the receiver no end. How's your 2215b going?
 
A few caps left to replace otherwise it's sounding sweet, bias is stable, can't ask for more!

I've tried this yesterday, I guess the lamp fuse I got where defective. When Turned on after replacing, got some smoke from the lower front, turned it off immediatly. Removed the lamps/fuses, turned it on again, and everything is fine, all lights work, but the dial ones.

Don you know what could I've burned out? thanks
