Marantz 2220 blowing main fuse?

Why is my 2220 blowing the main 2a fuse? I know that you are not suppose to but i even tried a 4a fuse and it blew as well as soon as i hit the power button. What can i do to fix this problem. I really like this home system and would hate to trash it.

Don't install and blow any more fuses, you'll only make more problems. My money would be on blown output transistors or failed filter caps. There's a service manual here - http://akdatabase.com/AKview/displayimage.php?album=1&pos=38.

Pull the output transistors and test them following these guidelines - http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=43186. If one or more of them test bad, there's likely other bad parts on the amp boards.
