Marantz 2220 Low Speaker Buzz - Need Help

I picked up a Marantz 2220 unit a few months ago, but when I hooked it up the speakers output a low buzz. Hoping to find someone out there is audiokarma land who can help me troubleshoot it. I don't have much experience with home audio gear, so your patience is appreciated.

Here's what I know so far:
- buzz is constant in both channels
- buzz does not increase or change with volume and remains when volume fully off.
- buzz exists in both speaker, remote and phones outputs
- unit has no other inputs hooked up, so likely not a ground loop
- buzz exists regardless of input selected

Anyways if someone has any idea or can help me out that'd be awesome. I'd prefer to try to fix this rather than call it garbage buy a new unit.

Have you had other vintage receivers hooked up to the same speakers in the same location?

Do you have fluorescent lights, cable box, modem, or other electronics in the room and/or on the same circuit?
 
Reason I ask all that is that I have similar problems in one of my systems. Fluorescents put out a buzz that comes back through the power lines. My TV cable box fuzzes up the reception on distant stations on a vintage receiver with a VERY good tuner that's been well tuned. If I shut it off reception is a lot better. Electronics today put out a lot of crap that old receivers are not shielded against.

No florescent lights. I do have a modem and tv on the same circuit; however, I've run an extension cord through nearly every circuit in the house same result. Also brought it to work, same buzz.

I got the unit serviced by a local stereo shop, they replaced some internals, but sounds still not improved. I'll dig up a receipt to provide components replaced.
 
There are many possibilities, but a bad main filter cap can cause this. I had a 2245 with a loud buzz on all inputs. Turned out AC was getting through the filter caps (two on that model). Replaced them and it was quiet as a mouse. As a relative noob, I needed help tracking it down and was given plenty of good advice. If you want to see how the experts helped me track it down, you can read my thread here. Again, lots of other possibilities and others will chime in on how to narrow it down.
