marantz 2230 bad SV-3A diode

Hi,
Are you sure your diode is bad ? I ask because they have such a big voltage drop that many DVMs are not able to read them and say "open" both ways. When I tested my SV-3A, only one of my meters registered it as working, with a drop of 1.8 volts.

In case one of the (easy to break) wires snapped off, you best bet is to try getting to more wire by carefully digging around the stub in the plastic body (small tool in a Dremel or similar), and then to solder on some flexible wire.

I'm not aware of any proper modern replacements, maybe somebody knows ?

yes, it is bad, 0.211 and 0.193 checking both ways with one leg lifted. measured with a fluke 87v :(, i think i have a new dust collecter or doorstop, maybe both, haha

There is no "out of the box" sub available as far as I know either. Bert is correct in what he said (no surprise!) and the two threads you mention are the best info out there. Hope you get it figured out and running!
 
I found a cross to an NTE605a and used it in my 4070. The NTE605a is also a discontinued item, but my local parts house had one (Elliott Electronics Supply). I am not a tech and don't know how to tell from the specs if this is correct, but it worked in mine. Good Luck Rich

Yes already bought 6 pcs NTE605A here in Mexico, the left working SV-3A measures 1.26v, and in other full working 2230 i have, i obtain almost same readings, so i think the right substitute is NTE605A, i will keep you informed when the parts arrives gentlemans, thanks to all you people for your help.
