Marantz 2230: Lit up faceplate.... Not that kind of "lit"

Oooh, I like it. Any details on how it was done? Glass or acrylic? Was the black mask done with screen print, or by some other means? I have a project that needs this sort of panel fabrication, so I'm looking for tips from anyone who has already done something similar in case I can pick up some useful knowledge.

The light shining out the bottom front of the unit (almost like theatre lighting on a stairwell) and onto the shelf surface is a nice touch as well. It may offend purists, but if the original panel was trashed or missing, I don't see any problem at all with this approach.
 
im not a big fan of the black faces but this is really cool :thumbsup: and i like the gloss finish
