new member. I have a 2230 as well as modern gear (anthem AV amp, speakers with Raal ribbons, digital sources). I like the 2230's warmth and musicality with the digital sources and ribbon speakers but it seems to lose some of the detail that comes from my modern set up when using the anthem as the receiver. If i use the 2230 as a pre-amp with the anthem powering the speakers, would i still retain the warmth while perhaps keeping some of the detail? basically my question is how much of the overall "marantz warmth" comes from the pre-amp v. the amp v. the combination of the two.
