So I followed some of the other threads and here is where I am at.
- With Volume down or at any volume, there is a slightly crackling on the right channel, this is with heaphones or with a speaker hooked up.
- If I remove the pre out, main in jumpers I still get the crackling.
- If I use an RCA cable to swap the pre out and main in channels, the crackling switches to the left channel.
- The crackling happens in any mode / knob config.
Because of this it is pointing me towards the pre amp board, which I think is is board P550. I also have a can of freeze spray if this would help as well once I know which board is which / if I'm on the right track. I would like to put the system under load to get things warm to see if the problem gets worse, can I hook 2 8Ohm resistors to the output channels to simulate a speaker consistently on?
Any troubleshooting guides for narrowing down the board would be greatly appreciated. Because the sound stops when the jumper is removed, that makes me think it is in the Pre-AMP / tone board.
Thanks!
