Marantz 2230B left chanel issue

Hi everyone I'm new here. I got this Marantz 2230B and wonder if this can be repaired. It sounds good but after a while the left channel drops. I tried switching the speakers to see if it would be the speaker. I cleaned the contacts and the potentiometer. Then, I tried switching the amplifier to make sure the source was good and it seems to work fine with my Sansui AU-101. So, it must be the Marantz that cause the trouble.

The issue affects system 1 as well as system 2 of the amplifier. I'm no technician, but since I got it for almost nothing I could risk repairing it and learn a few things. Here are videos of the issue. Any hint is appreciated. Thank you

It seems like a dirty contact.
Work the switches a bunch of times when it happens, see if that has any effect.

I don’t remember if that model has a speaker relay. If it does, that may be the issue. Dirty contacts or a weak capacitor that isn’t holding the relay closed tight. Take the top off and see if there is a relay. If there is, tap on it when playing to see if that has any effect.
 
You might try a little DeOxit on an RCA and push it in/pull it out a few times in the Pre Out, Amp In plugs. 2230B has the internal switches and if you can get to them with some DeOxit and a swab, that could help. This worked for me on a 2240.
 
I do have DeOxit and could borrow a voltmeter to check it, but I have very little knowledge about how circuits boards and transistors work and about how to use voltmeter. I'll see If I can figure out what relays are and what internal switches are. Thanks JJCalvillo
 
You should hear a click/ping a few seconds after the unit is powered up. That's the relay allowing signal to the speakers. It's a plastic box, I believe on the Power Board in that unit. You can sign up at HifiEngine (free) and get the service manual with the schematic and board diagrams. Voltage to the relay should be on the schematic.
 
JJCalvillo thanks for your insight. I tried tapping the the relay when the speaker shuts down, but it doesn't seem to help in anyway. I de-oxed the cable also without success. I think i'm going to have to bring the unit to a repair shop.

Wasn't the cable you need to clean, but the Pre Out/Amp In inputs on the receiver. They can get dirty, or the switch in behind them on the interior can, and cause cut outs.

I checked all the contacts. In the case of a bad contact problem, I think playing with the cable, the jacks and the plugs would make it at least squeak, but it's not the case.
 
So just to keep you updated. I took the amp to a repair shop yesterday and paid 65$ for professional cleaning and it seems to have fixed the issue. The guy said if it was a component causing the problem, it wouldn't come back to life just like that. He said I must have missed something in my cleaning process. So I'm happy it works and I hope it will keep on working. I'm just a bit frustrated that I couldn't clean it well myself.

Just a question to put out there: Does anyone know what the Dolby switch on this model does? I read the user's manual and it's not mentioned. I hear a small difference in the sound, it seems to cut off some frequencies but I'm not sure.
