Best to get ones that fit the clamps, maybe a bit higher capacitance. Originals are 5000uf which have degraded to 3500 uF or so. Even so ESR remains low (.04 ohms or so). Thanks.

Most caps measure low even with new when I use my Peak brand tester so they may not be bad. Some that are going bad will often measure high maybe with raised ESR and maybe not. Best bet is to replace them as they have limited life left. What diameter are the originals (in mm)? I'd be looking at 4700uF or at most 6800uF and going up at least one step in voltage rating.

Page 35 says filter caps C003 and C004, are 6800uF 40V. Just need to figure out the diameter of your existing filter caps, to make sure the replacements fit your clamps.

Nichicons are a known high quality item. I ordered some from Mouser. Thank You to all who replied. Interesting that some units were built with 5000 uF caps. Mine was built in December 1976 with 5000 uF caps. IDK, but that seems like an early production run to have the "wrong" filter caps. Probably a cost and supply issue at that time. I might add that the receiver sounds excellent - even now. Though there is a risk in running it with other leaky e-caps. I will change them out soon. I relamped the unit with LED's as all the incandescent fuse bulbs were blown out. Hard to beat the aesthetics of the 1970's era Marantz receivers and other gear. Thanks Again.
