Marantz 2235B knob problems

Hi All,

I am an electronics n00b, so please excuse the layman.

My Marantz 2235B's knobs (volume, bass, treble, mids, selector) have stopped functioning. When I turn them nothing happens, except the selector which changes the display to the correct selection, but plays Aux regardless. All of these pots have been recently treated with Deoxt (and worked for sometime after).

All the push buttons work, but the balance slider is also not functional.

I opened it up and didn't see any obvious broken solder joints. Anything I should specifically look for or should i just be looking to replace it?

im not sure such a switch exists on my receiver, any alternate names it would have? there is a tape 1 monitor button but pressing it on and off does not do anything.

Actually pressed it on and off a few times and it started working again. must have been stuck in the position thank you so much!

I'd say it needs a little more cleaning.

These switches normally don't stick unless there is a "mechanical" problem inside, not that common. More likely the tape 1 monitor switch had dirty contacts inside, and should also be cleaned with Deoxit. This is very common on these vintage units.
